In some countries, it is common practice for young people (13-17yrs) to get a part-time job in the summer. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of teenage employment.

Part-time jobs provide teenagers with new opportunities, and it is now a common practice for very young people to engage in part-time employment in the summer. Thus, this essay will address the upsides and downsides of this scenario.

On the one hand, participating in part-time jobs inculcates learners with vital life skills. Teenagers usually gain extraordinary time-management skills and try to become more organised since such people work in ecosystems where they communicate with team members effectively and follow the leader's instructions carefully. There are opportunities to build foundational skills in a part-time job, and they can often stay with workers as they move into the adult working world.

Additionally, a significant advantage of this notion is youngsters can learn valuable financial management skills. To be more precise, earning a fixed wage at a young age presents a chance to understand how to effectively manage expenses such as living and education. I think effective budget management is a valuable skill that young workers can learn from an early age and reap benefits later.

On the other hand, this concept bears a few issues. The primary is working part-time may interfere with academic studies. This means there might be a possibility that youngsters cannot focus on their studies during their free time since they have to engage in jobs. Some students need extra classes or tuition to learn subjects more deeply, and they are devoid of a better education if they divert tuition time towards part-time jobs. Undeniably, taking on a part-time job is a significant commitment, but education holds more water.

Another demerit of this trend is an inclination in stress levels. It means working hard for prolonged hours is a massive contributor to high-stress levels since students have to manage academics and professional lives in a parallel manner, which could have adverse effects on their health and studies. This stress is not good for both fields, like education and finances. Therefore, sometimes part-time jobs bring cognitive pressure.

To conclude, unarguably, doing part-time jobs has become a common practice for young people to earn money and experience, which has friendly outcomes; nonetheless, we cannot overlook associated adverse consequences.

Part - 3 - All Cue Cards

Part 3 belongs to all new cue cards from September to December 2022. We have written the answers on our own except for one topic. Hence, we hold the copyright status of the answers written by us. 1.  Describe an object you find particularly beautiful (For example, a painting, sculpture, piece of jewellery/furniture, etc.). 1. Do   you   think   there   are   more   beautiful   things   now   than  in  the   past? In my opinion, traditional art and sculptures are much more captivating. I think in the past, it was easier for artists to find shoppers in the form of kings and nobles and they could focus on their art without any financial worries. However, today it is much harder to earn money as an artist. The art being made today also reflects that – it is done more as a hobby rather than as a profession and the works produced are far behind those of the past. Moreover, nowadays artists rely on machine work instead of handmad...

Speaking Part 1 - January to April 2023

Fast Food and Break Fast What do you have for breakfast? I prefer to have my favourite food items during the first meal of the day. Usually, I like wheat bread with freshly cooked vegetables like Okra, Turnip, beans and cauliflower. Along with this, I love to take a cup of tea. However, during weekends, my mother cooks stuffed bread for me, and amongst all these bread types, my favourite one is potato-filled bread with curd and homemade butter.  Do you eat fast food? Yes, I do, but once a fortnight, I prefer to have it. It is owing to the bad cholesterols present in junk food materials. In this category, I find cheese burst pizza, garlic bread and white sauce Italian pasta mouth-watering.  What are the different kinds of fast food in your country? Name them. India has an ocean of fast food materials. For instance, Chinese, Italian and American fast materials are the most popular ones in India. Moreover, we have traditional fast foods as well.  The first one is a sa...
