In more and more countries, people choose to give money on special occasions rather than giving gifts chosen personally. Why might this be the case? Is it a positive or a negative development?

Total Words in the Task - 317.

Several people love to greet each other by exchanging money on special occasions rather than gifts. Time management is the biggest reason behind this. And it is largely a positive development.

With the advent of the revolutionised era, people are fully occupied, these days. They face a heavy workload, working around the clock, and witnessing stringent rules and regulations. Therefore, such people run out of time to buy gifts for their loved ones. Moreover, they need time to relax at home with their family members and dislike going outside to purchase traditional gift items. Hence, individuals prefer giving money as an alternative to gifts.

On the one hand, cash is superior to other forms of gifts. With money, people have greater autonomy to fulfil their requirements and save it to face any unforeseen circumstances. Furthermore, some party organisers also receive the same gifts owing to which they feel unhappy. Hence, money is the best way to greet others since it removes the barrier of getting the same gifts during a single event. To cite an example, various children ranging from 2 to 5 years usually receive the same gifts such as tricycles and battery-operated cars on birthdays which is associated with disappointment. As a result, money is the best gift since people can use it in a better way.

On the other hand, cash gifts bear a few downsides. Undeniably, cash allows recipients to buy necessary items; however, some youngsters take it adversely. Various young adults usually opt to buy unnecessary items such as access to Over The Top platforms and the latest gadgets. Moreover, such people prefer investing this money in online betting applications where they can lose the invested amount. Therefore, cash gifts are unsuitable in plenty of instances.

To conclude, a busier lifestyle aggravates people to choose money as a gift compared to other items, and the benefits of cash gifts outperform conventional gift items.

Part 3 belongs to all new cue cards from September to December 2022. We have written the answers on our own except for one topic. Hence, we hold the copyright status of the answers written by us. 1.  Describe an object you find particularly beautiful (For example, a painting, sculpture, piece of jewellery/furniture, etc.). 1. Do   you   think   there   are   more   beautiful   things   now   than  in  the   past? In my opinion, traditional art and sculptures are much more captivating. I think in the past, it was easier for artists to find shoppers in the form of kings and nobles and they could focus on their art without any financial worries. However, today it is much harder to earn money as an artist. The art being made today also reflects that – it is done more as a hobby rather than as a profession and the works produced are far behind those of the past. Moreover, nowadays artists rely on machine work instead of handmade items.  2.   Do you think there are many scenic spots in India

Usually, I like wheat bread with freshly cooked vegetables like Okra, Turnip, beans and cauliflower. Along with this, I love to take a cup of tea. However, during weekends, my mother cooks stuffed bread for me, and amongst all these bread types, my favourite one is potato-filled bread with curd and homemade butter.  Do you eat fast food? Yes, I do, but once a fortnight, I prefer to have it. It is owing to the bad cholesterols present in junk food materials.
