1. What do you think of online advertising?

Online advertising can be both useful and annoying. It helps us discover new products and services, but sometimes the ads can be too many and intrusive. Advertisers need to find a balance so that it doesn’t disrupt our online understanding too much.

3. What do people usually buy?

People usually buy clothes and electronic products online as there are great deals available on them. I personally bought an iPhone last year during the great Indian festival sale on Amazon. It was approximately Rs. 5000 cheaper as compared to the one available at the Apple store.

Recently, I ordered a Macbook after Flipkart announced the Big Billion Day Sale.

4. Why does buying new things make people happy?

Buying new things makes people happy because it gives them a feeling of excitement and joy. When we get something new, it can make us feel special and proud. It’s like a little gift to ourselves, and it can bring happiness and satisfaction to our lives.

5. Do people watch useless advertisements in this day and age?

People often watch advertisements, even if they might seem useless because sometimes they show us things we didn’t know existed. Some ads are funny or entertaining, so people watch them for fun. Sometimes, even if we think an ad is useless, it might still catch our attention, and we end up remembering the product or brand.

6. Do you think there is too much advertising in our daily lives?

Yes, there is a lot of advertising in our daily lives. Sometimes, it can be annoying because we see ads on TV, on our phones, and even on the streets. It can be overwhelming, and some people may wish for less advertising so they can have more peace.

7. Why do some people hate advertisements?

People do not like advertisements while they are watching a program because ads break the continuity. Another annoying factor is that most of the ads are very repetitive and there is nothing new. But the fact remains that if there are no advertising agencies to sponsor the programs we will not be able to watch good programs.

8. Do people usually buy stuff after watching advertisements?

Yes, definitely many people buy the products after they watch an ad. Many of the advertisements are very innovative as well as informative these days. An advert can lure a wide range of people, from small children to senior citizens.

For instance, recently I bought a microwave oven b y watching its advertisement on television.

9. Is music useful in advertising?

Yes, music adds life to the ad. Music can add meaning to anything and so music is useful in ads. For example, some jingles keep ringing in your ears even after the ad is over. So, the purpose of the ad is fulfilled.

10. What are the advantages of TV advertisements? How about internet advertisements?

TV ads have both audio and video components. So, these give visual reminders of the products and that is what sells the products. Internet ads can be skipped and it is optional and up to the user whether to view them or not.

We see ads all around us – on TV, radio, roadsides, in newspapers, magazines, the Internet, phones and as flyers.

12. Are there any advertisements at school?

Sometimes, supermarkets and fast food outlets give money to schools and open their outlets in schools. This is a way of advertising their products.

Moreover, plenty of higher educational institutions prefer to make students aware of degree courses by advertising during festivals' celebrations in schools or any other science programmes.

13. Are there some inappropriate adverts?

There are some inappropriate ads, like the ad for some perfumes, which imply that if a boy wears that perfume, girls will flock around him, and the ads for some drinks like Coke and other carbonated drinks consisting of high amounts of sugar which is dangerous for children.

Further, a few adverts are associated with energy and alcoholic drinks which are not good for some viewers.

14. Why does the government allow such ads?

The government allows such ads, because these ads spend a lot, which boosts the economy. Not only does the government earn, but the people working in these ads also earn a lot.

15. Do you think it is bad for children?

Yes, sometimes children are lured to buy such things, but I feel that parents can play a very positive role by keeping an eye on their children and guiding them on what is right or wrong.

16. Do parents complain about it?

Yes, parents complain about such harmful advertisements at times, but the advantages these ads are giving to the country, are much more than the negative effects of these ads.

Part - 3 - All Cue Cards

Part 3 belongs to all new cue cards from September to December 2022. We have written the answers on our own except for one topic. Hence, we hold the copyright status of the answers written by us. 1.  Describe an object you find particularly beautiful (For example, a painting, sculpture, piece of jewellery/furniture, etc.). 1. Do   you   think   there   are   more   beautiful   things   now   than  in  the   past? In my opinion, traditional art and sculptures are much more captivating. I think in the past, it was easier for artists to find shoppers in the form of kings and nobles and they could focus on their art without any financial worries. However, today it is much harder to earn money as an artist. The art being made today also reflects that – it is done more as a hobby rather than as a profession and the works produced are far behind those of the past. Moreover, nowadays artists rely on machine work instead of handmade items.  2.   Do you think there are many scenic spots in India

Fast Food and Break Fast What do you have for breakfast? I prefer to have my favourite food items during the first meal of the day. Usually, I like wheat bread with freshly cooked vegetables like Okra, Turnip, beans and cauliflower. Along with this, I love to take a cup of tea. However, during weekends, my mother cooks stuffed bread for me, and amongst all these bread types, my favourite one is potato-filled bread with curd and homemade butter.  Do you eat fast food? Yes, I do, but once a fortnight, I prefer to have it. It is owing to the bad cholesterols present in junk food materials. In this category, I find cheese burst pizza, garlic bread and white sauce Italian pasta mouth-watering.  What are the different kinds of fast food in your country? Name them. India has an ocean of fast food materials. For instance, Chinese, Italian and American fast materials are the most popular ones in India. Moreover, we have traditional fast foods as well.  The first one is a savoury stuffed pastr
