Role of television: Entertainment or NEWS.

 


Some people believe television is a good source of getting news. While others say it is beneficial for entertainment. Discuss the statement and give your opinion.

Television plays an imperative role in everyone's life. It provides information to the people. Moreover, it entertains viewers as well. Both roles are vital, and I think that providing information is more important than entertainment. 

On the one hand, television is beneficial to stay updated with the world, since it broadcasts news about what is going on around the globe. Similarly, it is the best way to get access to plenty of news according to a person's taste. Television provides a platform through which one can stay informed with global as well as local news. For instance, I love to kickstart my day by watching the news on my favorite channel BBC World, and it is one of the most efficient ways of getting proper news. 

On the other hand, television provides entertainment to the people as well. One can listen to favorite songs and watch movies on different channels. A person can watch films on channels like Star Movies, HBO, and English Cinema. Besides this, one can listen to songs on channels such as Amazon and Star Music. People love to watch cartoons or various serials on television, since it has an ocean of channels. Thus, people use this technological gadget to enjoy.

To sum up, after discussing both schools of thought, I consider that the former opinion holds more water, since we can watch movies on cell phones too; however, people prefer to watch news on television.

Speaking Part 1 - January to April 2023

  Fast Food and Break Fast What do you have for breakfast? I prefer to have my favourite food items during the first meal of the day. Usually, I like wheat bread with freshly cooked vegetables like Okra, Turnip, beans and cauliflower. Along with this, I love to take a cup of tea.
