New technologies have changed the way children spend their free time. Do you think the advantages of this trend outweigh the disadvantages?

Technology is seeping into children's lives so smoothly that they cannot survive without it, especially during leisure time. I am of the opinion that the negative sides of this culture will outweigh the positive.

To begin with, there are plenty of aspects behind my viewpoint. The primary is that the physical health of young adults is being compromised. These days kids are constantly inundated by technology. While children and teens need to develop an aptitude for technology, after all, they will use computers their whole lives, and too much technology use for recreational activities can have detrimental health and physical effects. Moreover, modern kids are becoming obese, lacking social skills and facing behavioural problems. Hence, it is the technology that is ruining their overall health.

Another aspect is that using technology to spend free time has become an obsession for modern children. Therefore, screen time has inclined drastically owing to which they are devoid of playing outdoor games like cricket, badminton and hide and seek. It is the biggest reason behind becoming obese and having digital eye strain issues. Research has also found that children and adolescents may engage in more mindless eating while watching TV or playing video games. Thus, their body fitness is becoming weakened.

A few people might disagree with me and will say technological social media platforms are beneficial for them since it is the best way to mushroom creative expression and critical thinking. As a result, they may be able to think out of the box and share their joys and sorrows with online friends. However, I assert that technology has completely changed the way we interact with each other. When kids spend a significant amount of time on social media, it can lead to lower self-esteem. Further, technology can cause social problems because it minimises the amount of time children spend interacting with others.

To conclude, though technology is beneficial for youngsters since it provides educational and knowledgeable platforms, modern offspring prefer to use it around the clock due to which they face deleterious consequences. Consequently, I consider that the demerits outperform the merits.

Part - 3 - All Cue Cards

Part 3 belongs to all new cue cards from September to December 2022. We have written the answers on our own except for one topic. Hence, we hold the copyright status of the answers written by us. 1.  Describe an object you find particularly beautiful (For example, a painting, sculpture, piece of jewellery/furniture, etc.). 1. Do   you   think   there   are   more   beautiful   things   now   than  in  the   past? In my opinion, traditional art and sculptures are much more captivating. I think in the past, it was easier for artists to find shoppers in the form of kings and nobles and they could focus on their art without any financial worries. However, today it is much harder to earn money as an artist. The art being made today also reflects that – it is done more as a hobby rather than as a profession and the works produced are far behind those of the past. Moreover, nowadays artists rely on machine work instead of handmade items.  2.   Do you think there are many scenic spots in India

Fast Food and Break Fast What do you have for breakfast? I prefer to have my favourite food items during the first meal of the day. Usually, I like wheat bread with freshly cooked vegetables like Okra, Turnip, beans and cauliflower. Along with this, I love to take a cup of tea. However, during weekends, my mother cooks stuffed bread for me, and amongst all these bread types, my favourite one is potato-filled bread with curd and homemade butter.  Do you eat fast food? Yes, I do, but once a fortnight, I prefer to have it. It is owing to the bad cholesterols present in junk food materials. In this category, I find cheese burst pizza, garlic bread and white sauce Italian pasta mouth-watering.  What are the different kinds of fast food in your country? Name them. India has an ocean of fast food materials. For instance, Chinese, Italian and American fast materials are the most popular ones in India. Moreover, we have traditional fast foods as well.  The first one is a savoury stuffed pastr
