Advertisements play a pivotal role in the upsurging of any business since they gravitate viewers to consume products and services. However, a few adverts have negative impacts on watchers. Hence, now I will talk about an advertisement that I dislike.
When did you see it?
I exactly remember I watched this advertisement when there was a lockdown owing spread of COVID-19 in 2020.
What is it about?
It was promoting a health-hazardous product called tobacco which is prepared from the dried leaves of a plant named Nicotiana tabacum.
Where you saw it/ how you came to know about it?
Owing to the covid-19 pandemic, I was feeling depressed since the situation was getting worse with each passing day. At the time, I thought of watching my favourite movie named The Martian on the television where I witnessed the promotion of tobacco.
Moreover a few days back, I read an advertisement based on tobacco in the local newspaper that I bought for my home.
Why you didn't like it?
There are a plethora of reasons why I disliked the advert:
Firstly, this genre of advertisement impacts society in a pessimistic way. It misguides the consumer globally. Furthermore, tobacco is a drug consisting of high levels of addictive chemicals known as nicotine. And after being allured by the advertisement, considerable viewers consume it. As a result, they face detrimental health consequences.
Secondly, the product may be smoked in cigarettes, cigars, and pipes. Consequently, inhaling various chemicals and toxins that cause cancer.
Thus, owing to the reasons mentioned above I dislike the particular advertisement. In my opinion, such products that are no less than drugs should not be advertised.
