In some countries young people are encouraged to work or travel for a year between finishing high school and starting university studies. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages for young people who decide to do this.

This essay is written by BAWA IELTS Ferozepur by following THE SCHOLARSHIP HUB website.

Whether it is to take a break from studies, spend some time volunteering, gain real-world work experience or travel to the world before diving into the throws of university life - taking a gap year is tremendously beneficial for the personal growth of a candidate. It has both upsides and downsides.

On the one hand, this concept invites plenty of benefits. The primary advantage is that it gives space to pursue other passions. To be more precise, taking a year-long pause from academics allows reflecting on what we love to do. Such learners love to spend time pursuing hobbies and interests that are often neglected in favour of studying. As a result, such candidates can discover new ideas and different ways of getting a successful career in the later period.

On the other hand, this path has a risk of losing academic momentum. Sometimes a person returns having enthusiastic and motivated feelings; however, the worst-case scenario is that trainees lose academic momentum completely. The last thing is that it becomes laborious work to focus on studies again which impacts badly.

Another benefit is that the gap year allows work and earning money. Hence, there is certainly no shame in spending a gap year working to gather funds that can help with living costs whilst at university. It helps to feel much more confident about going off to live independently for the very first time, taking a huge financial pressure off your shoulders.

On the contrary, taking a gap year may waste a lot of valuable time. It means when a person decides to take a year out, it is vital to have a clear plan mapped out; otherwise, a person may end up wasting precious time.

Yet another excellence is that it can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience since a gap year enables one to get a chance to explore the world to get exposure to different cultures and languages and inculcate a person's mind with novel ideas.

Conversely, a candidate may be a year behind after having a gap year. A few students have discussed that they have fallen behind their mates after taking a gap year, and they are now unable to emphasise adequately toward studies.

To conclude, the gap year has both sides. I assert it varies from person to person about the type of gap year.

Part - 3 - All Cue Cards

Part 3 belongs to all new cue cards from September to December 2022. We have written the answers on our own except for one topic. Hence, we hold the copyright status of the answers written by us. 1.  Describe an object you find particularly beautiful (For example, a painting, sculpture, piece of jewellery/furniture, etc.). 1. Do   you   think   there   are   more   beautiful   things   now   than  in  the   past? In my opinion, traditional art and sculptures are much more captivating. I think in the past, it was easier for artists to find shoppers in the form of kings and nobles and they could focus on their art without any financial worries. However, today it is much harder to earn money as an artist. The art being made today also reflects that – it is done more as a hobby rather than as a profession and the works produced are far behind those of the past. Moreover, nowadays artists rely on machine work instead of handmade items.  2.   Do you think there are many scenic spots in India

Fast Food and Break Fast What do you have for breakfast? I prefer to have my favourite food items during the first meal of the day. Usually, I like wheat bread with freshly cooked vegetables like Okra, Turnip, beans and cauliflower. Along with this, I love to take a cup of tea. However, during weekends, my mother cooks stuffed bread for me, and amongst all these bread types, my favourite one is potato-filled bread with curd and homemade butter.  Do you eat fast food? Yes, I do, but once a fortnight, I prefer to have it. It is owing to the bad cholesterols present in junk food materials. In this category, I find cheese burst pizza, garlic bread and white sauce Italian pasta mouth-watering.  What are the different kinds of fast food in your country? Name them. India has an ocean of fast food materials. For instance, Chinese, Italian and American fast materials are the most popular ones in India. Moreover, we have traditional fast foods as well.  The first one is a savoury stuffed pastr
