Historical buildings are the pillar of the nation as they are associated with culture, customs, and roots. I have visited several historical buildings and in this cue card, I am going to speak about the Red Fort.
The name of the building is the Red Fort. It is situated in old Delhi. During My school studies, it was an important chapter of our social study subject.
It is important because of several reasons. First of all, this is a historical fort that served as the main residence of emperor Shah Jahan and because of this fort the Indian capital was shifted from Agra to New Delhi.
This building is built of red and white stone and the main architect was Master Ahmed Lahori every year on independence day the prime minister of India addresses the nation from the Lahori gate. It was constructed between 1639 to 1648. This building is of Islamic culture. In addition, people love to visit this fort as it encapsulates the long history and art of India. This building is also known as a monument of national important significance.
Last but not the least, this building also showcases a high level of ornamentation and the famous ‘Kohinoor Diamond was reportedly a part of the furnishings. The fort’s artwork synthesis of Persian European and Indian art resulted in a unique Mughal style rich in form, expression and colour.
