I love astronomy and during several instances, I have observed the stars. Here I would like to explain the scenario when I looked at the starts.

When it was?

It happened when I visited the holy city Amritsar with my friends a month ago.

Where and with whom?

We all were at the Golden Temple sitting on the perimeter.

What did you observe?

First of all, when we looked at the stars, we were looking at the light that came from the star. Moreover, we observed that because the stars are so far away, therefore it takes years for their light to reach us. As a result, when we look at a star, people are seeing what it looked like years ago.

Moreover, we saw the beautiful coma star cluster that belongs to the tail of the constellation Leo, the lion. It's a group of 50 or more stars located about 300 light-years distant. Though it is tough under light pollution, it was visible at that time owing to full dark.

How did you feel?

That moment was full of energy and rejuvenation since it instilled a sensation of positivity in me. Gazing at the stars made us so nice at that time because we were filled with altruistic and helpful behaviour.

Finally, staring at the sky restored hope, and we were connected to nature.

Part 3

Q1. Why do people like to study the sky?

People like to study the sky to notice the weather changes; some see it as an inspiration for arts like painting, photography, etc. It is also important to study about sky and space to understand that we are a part of a huge universe, which ignites our curiosity about what’s beyond the sky. Some people study it, as they believe that planetary movements affect a person’s fate.

Q2. Do you know any stories related to planets?

Follow cue card. The Martian

Q3. Do you think children should be told planet stories to improve their image?

Yes, definitely. Children must be told stories about other planets. It most certainly helps improve their creativity and imagination, because of the curiosity it creates in their minds. Some children also end up taking it up as a career path, e.g. astronauts, space research scientists and rocket engineers.

Q4. Would children be benefited from watching stars?

Yes, children would be benefitted from watching stars. They become curious about the universe and outer space, which help increase their creativity and also, might help them choose it as a career path in the future.

Q5. Would you like to watch movies on planets?

Yes. The Martian is my favourite movie associated with planets.

Q6. Did you like to watch the sky when you were young?

Yes, I liked to watch the sky when I was young. I remember that during summer vacations, we used to visit our farmhouse and we used to sleep outside, in the open. At that time I did not know anything about constellations, but we used to find the night sky with the twinkling stars very fascinating and beautiful.

Part - 3 - All Cue Cards

Part 3 belongs to all new cue cards from September to December 2022. We have written the answers on our own except for one topic. Hence, we hold the copyright status of the answers written by us. 1.  Describe an object you find particularly beautiful (For example, a painting, sculpture, piece of jewellery/furniture, etc.). 1. Do   you   think   there   are   more   beautiful   things   now   than  in  the   past? In my opinion, traditional art and sculptures are much more captivating. I think in the past, it was easier for artists to find shoppers in the form of kings and nobles and they could focus on their art without any financial worries. However, today it is much harder to earn money as an artist. The art being made today also reflects that – it is done more as a hobby rather than as a profession and the works produced are far behind those of the past. Moreover, nowadays artists rely on machine work instead of handmad...

Speaking Part 1 - January to April 2023

Fast Food and Break Fast What do you have for breakfast? I prefer to have my favourite food items during the first meal of the day. Usually, I like wheat bread with freshly cooked vegetables like Okra, Turnip, beans and cauliflower. Along with this, I love to take a cup of tea. However, during weekends, my mother cooks stuffed bread for me, and amongst all these bread types, my favourite one is potato-filled bread with curd and homemade butter.  Do you eat fast food? Yes, I do, but once a fortnight, I prefer to have it. It is owing to the bad cholesterols present in junk food materials. In this category, I find cheese burst pizza, garlic bread and white sauce Italian pasta mouth-watering.  What are the different kinds of fast food in your country? Name them. India has an ocean of fast food materials. For instance, Chinese, Italian and American fast materials are the most popular ones in India. Moreover, we have traditional fast foods as well.  The first one is a sa...
