The position of women has changed a great deal in many societies over the past 50 years. However, these societies cannot claim to have achieved gender equality. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Undeniably, the female position has changed drastically over the past five decades; nonetheless, they still, face gender inequality. Thus, I completely agree with the notion and will discuss my viewpoints in the forthcoming paragraphs.

The foremost point sustaining my viewpoint is that jobs are readily available for men compared to women for various reasons. The first is various jobs still are labour intensive and they consider hiring males due to more physical strength in comparison with females. Various organisations do not consider females for significant positions since society still thinks females are less competent for the highest positions due to lesser confidence.

The second is the parents still do not allow girls to leave their homes to get higher education for the brightest opportunities. In brief, girls are more likely to be denied equal opportunities and never set foot in a classroom. They also receive less support to pursue their chosen studies, like science and mathematics. Hence, we still face gender inequality.

Another factor is domestic violence. It means girls are particularly at risk of gender-based violence including child marriage. Similarly, undeniably girls are engaged in jobs these days but have to prepare meals at home after office hours. Failure to do so invites serious issues in personal life. Thus, it is viable to say we still face gender inequality even in this technological era.

Additionally, society still considers women as weak persons and thinks they are still confined to four walls of a room. The traditional way of thinking still thinks women should stay at home and do household chores such as cooking food and raising the children. This thinking restricts them no to go outside and participate in higher education works. Therefore, these factors are enough to say we have not achieved gender equality even after five decades.

To conclude, undoubtedly, the position of women has changed; nonetheless, we have not achieved gender equality owing to the aforementioned reasons.

Part - 3 - All Cue Cards

Part 3 belongs to all new cue cards from September to December 2022. We have written the answers on our own except for one topic. Hence, we hold the copyright status of the answers written by us. 1.  Describe an object you find particularly beautiful (For example, a painting, sculpture, piece of jewellery/furniture, etc.). 1. Do   you   think   there   are   more   beautiful   things   now   than  in  the   past? In my opinion, traditional art and sculptures are much more captivating. I think in the past, it was easier for artists to find shoppers in the form of kings and nobles and they could focus on their art without any financial worries. However, today it is much harder to earn money as an artist. The art being made today also reflects that – it is done more as a hobby rather than as a profession and the works produced are far behind those of the past. Moreover, nowadays artists rely on machine work instead of handmad...

Speaking Part 1 - January to April 2023

Fast Food and Break Fast What do you have for breakfast? I prefer to have my favourite food items during the first meal of the day. Usually, I like wheat bread with freshly cooked vegetables like Okra, Turnip, beans and cauliflower. Along with this, I love to take a cup of tea. However, during weekends, my mother cooks stuffed bread for me, and amongst all these bread types, my favourite one is potato-filled bread with curd and homemade butter.  Do you eat fast food? Yes, I do, but once a fortnight, I prefer to have it. It is owing to the bad cholesterols present in junk food materials. In this category, I find cheese burst pizza, garlic bread and white sauce Italian pasta mouth-watering.  What are the different kinds of fast food in your country? Name them. India has an ocean of fast food materials. For instance, Chinese, Italian and American fast materials are the most popular ones in India. Moreover, we have traditional fast foods as well.  The first one is a sa...
