People in all modern societies use drugs, but today's youth are experimenting with both legal and illegal drugs at an increasingly early age. Some sociologists claim that parents and other members of society often set a bad example. Discuss the causes and some effects of widespread drug use by young people in modern-day society. Make any recommendations you feel are necessary to help fight youth drug abuse.

These days, people in every modern community use drugs for both legal and illegal purposes. Moreover, this attitude is more popular among younger individuals and not having good examples to follow in their families or even the entire society is believed to be the main reason by Some sociologists.

Unemployment and lack of proper guidance are considered to be the main causes behind such behaviour. Furthermore, when people are young, they tend to be reckless and easily driven by wrong attitudes around them. For instance, in the USA, the two-fifth proportion of Heroin addicts was not employed when they first started using, and they were rejected by many business owners which led to their depression and lack of confidence. Therefore, having no job or a guide could be a major trigger not only for addiction; but also for other crimes. Moreover, numerous people are in contact with drug peddlers owing to which they satisfy their needs of getting drugs easily.

On the contrary, many recommendations are readily available and are also effective in combating drug abuse, such as awareness campaigns and providing job opportunities to the youth. Indeed, these efforts aim to demolish the circumstances that may encourage youth drug abuse to begin with. To cite an example, Lionel Messi took part in a governmental campaign against Cocaine that resulted in a ten per cent decrease in its abuse. It is for these reasons that governments should endeavour to spread awareness to bear in mind the adverse effects of widespread drug abuse by young people in modern-day society.

In conclusion, abusing addictive substances is a popular behaviour that is being experimented with more and more recently by today's youth both legally and illegally. Although some parents try to be good models for their children, others, unfortunately, tend to show indifference about that. While unemployment is the major cause of such a problem, spreading awareness and employing young people are effective solutions.

Part - 3 - All Cue Cards

Part 3 belongs to all new cue cards from September to December 2022. We have written the answers on our own except for one topic. Hence, we hold the copyright status of the answers written by us. 1.  Describe an object you find particularly beautiful (For example, a painting, sculpture, piece of jewellery/furniture, etc.). 1. Do   you   think   there   are   more   beautiful   things   now   than  in  the   past? In my opinion, traditional art and sculptures are much more captivating. I think in the past, it was easier for artists to find shoppers in the form of kings and nobles and they could focus on their art without any financial worries. However, today it is much harder to earn money as an artist. The art being made today also reflects that – it is done more as a hobby rather than as a profession and the works produced are far behind those of the past. Moreover, nowadays artists rely on machine work instead of handmad...

Speaking Part 1 - January to April 2023

Fast Food and Break Fast What do you have for breakfast? I prefer to have my favourite food items during the first meal of the day. Usually, I like wheat bread with freshly cooked vegetables like Okra, Turnip, beans and cauliflower. Along with this, I love to take a cup of tea. However, during weekends, my mother cooks stuffed bread for me, and amongst all these bread types, my favourite one is potato-filled bread with curd and homemade butter.  Do you eat fast food? Yes, I do, but once a fortnight, I prefer to have it. It is owing to the bad cholesterols present in junk food materials. In this category, I find cheese burst pizza, garlic bread and white sauce Italian pasta mouth-watering.  What are the different kinds of fast food in your country? Name them. India has an ocean of fast food materials. For instance, Chinese, Italian and American fast materials are the most popular ones in India. Moreover, we have traditional fast foods as well.  The first one is a sa...
